In January 2008, we acquired Kosan Crisplant, a global leader in systems and solutions for filling and reconditioning liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders. 

Kosan Crisplant is based in Denmark, and has other 14 offices in France, Italy, Romania, Portugal, Spain, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Jordan, Cameroon, Algeria, Mexico, Brazil and the USA. Since its establishment in 1951, it has supplied systems to over 2,400 LPG distributors in some 120 countries around the world.

We identified Kosan Crisplant as satisfying our exact investment criteria because, as well as engaging in Shari’a compliant activities, it has a proven track record of excellence and innovation spanning over more than 50 years, with dynamic management leading a dedicated, high quality workforce and an established international footprint with potential for further expansion and development, especially in the MENA sector.

Building on its world class engineering and project management skills and with the full support of Caravan, Kosan Crisplant is now consolidating its position as global market leader by launching a range of new product offerings, establishing additional sourcing and assembly operations in cost-effective locations and commencing a successful facility management concept. The company has also identified the Middle East region as a key growth market, where the opportunity to leverage our established network offers exciting possibilities.
